I’M MOVING!!!

Yes, that’s right, my commitment issues have taken over yet again.

Robbing Him Blind originally started on Blogspot, then I was under instructions to move here.

Well, I’m rebelling (with permission, heh) to Blogspot, where my original first two posts were.

So, update your browsers and the like (robbinghimblind.blogspot.com <— you can copy and paste!) and please pardon my dust and I get the new and exciting blog up and going.

Who knows, I may be back…

After much debate, planning, and not running away…Shelby and I finally got this picture happen.

He doesn’t have to like us, but as long as he likes his back up 🙂

August is Such a Happy Month.

The earlier we are before training camp, the more I seem to like Ryan Miller. It’s a weird thing I cannot explain…

I think it’s because deep down inside, I don’t actually mind him, and he’s a mellow guy when in his presence. Also, I haven’t seen him since…April? So four months off does a lot for me.

Also, he hasn’t had the chance to blow it, yet.

But he made his return to the Pepsi Center this morning (apparently he was there before orientation camp, but how the hell was I suppose to know that?) He got new pads, I suppose that’s to him what getting a new notebook is to me.

Speaking of goalies, one of my friends reminded me today that Patty had hip surgery/hernia surgery. I knew about this, it just slipped my mind throughout the summer. He said he saw him in Wegmans (they’re always in Wegmans) about a month ago and he was limping.

SUDDENLY that means he’s a goner (or will be at the end of his contract) and Johnas, who has NEVER even played in the NHL, will be taking his place. Because of a little limp! He said on the Sabres show that he was fine! Also, Darcy said that he’s going to be in net/bench this season…and this will be the one time ever that I use Darcy as an advantage, so please save this post.

He said on the Sabres show that he was doing fine, and why would anyone lie to Kevin? I think I’m just freaking out for nothing, people like to screw with me. I probably won’t feel better until I see him, which is hopefully soon…because this entire hockey year is all pushed back a week.

I believe in you, Patty Cakes. You’ve survived through tougher things, and you’re not going anywhere.

This is the video in which Shelby said Betruzzi is the actual Patty Cakes.

Clearly, this was a minor filler post.

For Shelby.

The other day at the Pepsi Center, Shelby stated that she had never seen Tim Connolly with hair. And who can blame her, its been so long since his fabulous hair was in existence.

Since she’s not online right now, I’ll post them here.

I believe his hair got fuller than that, but I had never seen that picture or that card so it was a good find. Also, I never knew he broke his leg, but I would not be a Tim Connolly fan if that were to shock me.

That’s pretty stylin’…if you ask me. We should really push for that do to make a come back.

However, I do believe a certain teammate has him beaten in the fro department.

and you can’t call me bias, because I love them both!

A Canuck, a Bobblehead, and Procrastination

I’ve really been slacking at this updating thing, but then again slacking to me could easily be not posting numerous times a day. And this seems like a really bad time to start slacking, because we are so close to good stuff!

Allegedly.

Anywho, on the Sabres home front, they signed former Canuck Jeff Cowan.

Giving Adam Mair some competition on how to end a game without your natural skin color, eh?

Other than Atlanta (who doesn’t really count) he’s played for Western teams (and not Columbus western, real ones) so the two way contract he signed, which allows him to go to Portland, will be as East as you can get. And just in time, too, because we’re cranking in forwards like Detroit cranks in Swedes.

I read on Shelby’s blog that during a game, a bra was thrown onto the ice after he scored…to which the entire team signed it and then donated it to breast cancer awareness. Some people just never stop thinking, do they. I’d like to think thats a clever thing the Sabres would do, but Derek Roy would likely steal said bra…

In less creepy news, my Patty bobblehead, once owned by my uncle, finally arrived yesterday from Ottawa.

It’s still less creepy than Derek Roy and bras…kind of. Usually bobbleheads are very scary replicas, but I don’t think he’s half bad. His smile is dead on, but Shelby and I were rather disappointed with the lack of fro, since this was from his Ottawa days.

I settle on the fact that they ran out of material.

Anywho, that’s all I’ve got for right now (because a certain forward still remains unsigned!). Everyone enjoy our splendid weather that we’ll all complain about until the snow hits.

Marty Biron has all of them.

Shelby and I ventured to the Pepsi Center for our third day. And, since this is my blog and I can pretty much do whatever I want with it, I should probably include more pictures.

Right?

Right.

Potentially plotting revenge about how they were both dissed and dismissed by the Sabres?

One of those scary moments in life when you realize that Adam Mair is staring at you.

Danny P going ‘ wait, who are you again?’

Marty just does not allow conversations to go on without him.

Shelby and Scott The Bear, who was part of Martys belated birthday present (along with bbq chips and two hersey bars AND a card with a very well thought out poem in it…kind of). He seemed very grateful for it…but who could not be intrigued by a Cars gift bag?

And, it seems as though Timmy…who left the center yesterday with talk of a boo boo in flippin August…is just fine. But what could be nothing to him could be an injury to a lesser person. He did very well today, but he would make me feel better if he wore something that was not the red no-contact jersey.

But I would gladly take a Drew Stafford contract instead…Darcy…

A friend of mine just posted these on her Facebook.

I hope to have my camera tomorrow and not just my phone.

The greatest picture ever because it’s just everyone I love in one.

After Petey convinced Marty to come back on the ice.

I think this was some kind of deal they had? I wish that was the water bottle I filled up.

Tis’ a Good Morning.

Very few things can make me this happy before noon, but a little taste of hockey season this morning changes such.

I finally met Shelby, not that we didn’t know each other, but it was our first conversation without a computer or cell phone in front of us. She’s a lovely girl and, just in case there was concern, not a crazy killer with a knife or something.

Anywho, we received a tip that former and current Sabres, along with some random guys, practice at the Pepsi Center in the early am, so we ventured out to see them.

Sure enough, Adam Mair was there, because he doesn’t leave the city ever. Patrick Kaleta showed up, which was apparently his first time showing up. Petey was also there probably because he doesn’t know where else to go for the time being. Captain Rivet was also there, but he didn’t stay long, I’m sure his intense maturity level couldn’t handle it.

Oh! And Connolly! How did I forget him? Maybe because I’m not use to seeing him skate…

As for the FORMER Sabres, and we will ignore Michael Peca so it doesn’t damper on my excitement, there was this guy…

who I only recognized in the Team Canada jersey when he walked by me because of those beautiful eyes (and the goalie gear, but ya know). I was soooo excited, but I didn’t say anything to him inside the actual rink…aside from laughing when he tried to yell early, and Petey was pestering him saying ‘ ten more minutes!’ (Mr. Biron had a meeting at 11).

And there was also some Jay McKee guy who was not going to get much attention until he was OUT of that Penguins jersey. Honest to God, when he signed my puck, I was literally on edge of going ‘ why the Penguins?!’ But, I wasn’t sure he could take it in a joking way, because I adore Jay and I’m sure he made what he thought was the smartest move. Still…

I do hope that Marty was secretly happy that I had an Islanders puck (that I bought yesterday).

Just as Patty 2 must have been when I kindly filled up the water bottle that he threw over the glass to me.

And the excitement did last until the last minute because Marty had actually parked next to me in the parking lot.

We didn’t get out there with enough time to get a picture of such, but that did not stop me from getting one of the empty parking space.

HA!

Shelby and I do plan to venture out to the center in the next few days to see what other kind of trouble we can get into. Like free hugs…

Drabble.

I’d figured I’d get a few things covered as my last hour of work approaches.

1.) I should have mentioned this in Martys birthday post, because I don’t think I ever have before, but the entire title of this blog comes from him. Well, him and RJ, but either way. I’m sure this save isn’t news to anyone (though you young-ins may not recall when it actually happened. It’s okay, I don’t) here it is…

Part of being a great goalie, even if only for a moment, is not drawing attention to the fact that you have kick ass. Such as Marty pulling such a save out of his behind(I’m sure a constant wanderer, he has to be prepared for such things), and being like ‘ yeah, whatever’ moments after. I love it, and I love him.

2.) I truely think that a Drew Stafford contract is days away (only because they usually don’t sign on weekends). I cannot openly say WHY I feel this, but something is coming. That, and it’s mid-August.

3.) Mr. Grier sent us realllllly close to the cap space, so if Drew does sign- even without the pay raise he does deserve- it’s going to get messy. Someone may be going. And by someone I mean NOT Goose. Everyone else, sleep with one eye open (though I like to think Toni is safe, not sure why).

4.) I think Google sponsored links are on to Shelby and I.

If only they really could help! But we’re pretty sure we have him located now.

5.) I am still so sick of people saying Patty failed us when Ryan was hurt. I didn’t look up the exact number, but I know he only played a handful of games prior to the injury, and then becomes a starter. Yes, that is the backups job, but its the teams job to prepare the back up…such as playing MORE than five games before becoming a starter. He IS a good goalie…and somehow its always someone elses fault when Ryan blows a game. Ugh.

6.) I have a new happy picture! I stumbled across this one during…actually, I don’t know. Anyways, it makes me smile….

And hopefully does the same for you, as well.

It’s like Godzilla invading Japan or something.

Happy Birthday!

That’s right, folks! Today is Marty Birons 32nd birthday (hush up, you still love him). This time last year I was at a Dennys in Kingston, Ontario eating pancakes in his honor. I don’t think I’ll get such a chance to do that today, but this is just as good!

I went through my Photobucket saying I would post the first picture in there that I found. Other than the one announcing he signed with the Islanders (we don’t need to be reminded of that) this one came up first…

Seeing that should make your day better.

I believe the birthday boy is in Buffalo at the present time, so lets home he has a good Buffalo birthday without punching cabbies, or getting punched by Ray Emery (sorry).

Happy Birthday, big guy!
